Queen’s to host centennial celebration

Queen’s University will host an international congress in Kingston, Ont., Aug. 23-26 to commemorate the establishment of its century-old School of Mines.

Experts from North America, South Africa and Australia will present papers pertaining to mine design at the conference. Noranda Inc., for example, will deliver a report on an electrical technique for blasting rock. The congress is co-sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.
