QPA convention set for Val d’Or

Theme of this year’s Quebec Prospectors Association convention, scheduled for Sept. 16-18 in Val d’Or, Que., is “Exploring in Quebec?”, with the focus on evaluating the future of mining exploration in the province and identifying challenges that will have to be overcome.

The Wednesday agenda includes area mine visits and a seminar on Quebec’s Mining Act. The association’s annual meeting is scheduled for Thursday morning.

A round table discussion on the convention theme will take place Thursday afternoon. Association award winners will be announced at Thursday’s annual supper.

Technical discussions related to the geology of certain regions in the province’s northwest and various mining projects will take place Friday.
