The first of six new computer databases being developed by the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines’ Geoscience Data Centre is now available, Ontario Mines Minister Sean Conway announced recently. The six databases comprise the new Geoscience Database for Microcomputer Series, which will allow users to obtain a wide range of geoscience data using floppy disks on a microcomputer
The Mineral Deposit Inventory (MDI) Program is the first database to be released. The remaining five programs in the series, to be developed over the next two years, include Rock Chemical Data (RCD), Geological Data Information Folio (GDIF), Index to Geoscience Data (IGD), Index to Assessment Data (IAD), and Assessment Index to Microfiche (AIM).
