A reconnaissance soil survey, performed by
The survey, which covered a 9-sq.-km area, showed eight areas with elevated concentrations of copper and molybdneum in A-horizon soils and with the leached material nearest the surface. Three of the dispersion trains have been traced back to bedrock showings.
The company will concentrate its follow-up work on three of the dispersion trains. In one train, about 1.5 km long, copper values reach 216 parts per million (ppm), and gold concentrations are as high as 85 parts per billion.
A second train contains soils with copper contents of up to 188 ppm and moly contents of up to 148 ppm. The train is narrow and 1 km long.
A third train is long and has both copper and moly values. All three are open in the down-ice direction.
Granitic intrusions in the Tilly area are host to six altered and mineralized breccia zones and to three zones of vein mineralization.
