Production up at San Francisco

Geomaque Explorations (GEO-T) has boosted production by one-third at its San Francisco gold mine in Mexico’s Sonora state.

During the three months ended Sept. 30, the mine churned out 17,150 oz. gold, compared with 12,681 oz. in the previous 3-month period. To date, 2.3 million tonnes averaging 1 gram gold per tonne have been heap-leached, roughly equivalent to that treated in all of 1997.

The higher production is attributable to an increase in daily production capacity to 10,000 tonnes and the installation of a conveyor system.

Meanwhile, Geomaque is conducting a feasibility study on its Vueltas del Rio gold project in Honduras. At last report, the property hosted combined resources, in two zones, of 12.6 million tonnes grading 1.61 grams; most of this (9.6 million tonnes) is outlined in the Main zone.
