Production stable for Placer Dome

In 1993, Placer Dome’s (TSE) share of gold production totaled 1.8 million oz. at an average cash production cost of US$184 per oz., compared with US$189 in the previous year.

The company’s share of production this year is expected to hold steady at 1.8 million oz.

A star performer in 1993 was La Coipa. The Chilean mine had gold production of 258,200 oz. plus 13.3 million oz. silver, of which the company’s share was 129,1000 oz. gold and 6.6 million oz. silver.
