Production of zinc and lead concentrates at the Bunker Hill mine in Idaho’s Coeur d’Alene mining district has resumed, Bunker Hill Mining said recently.
Initial production will come from the zinc-rich Quill ore deposit which was discovered before the mine was closed in 1981. The Quill deposit is located relatively near the Bunker No 1 shaft and will be mined initially from Level No 9 to No 13.
“Initial ore production of 500 tons per day has already been reached,” said President J. W. Kendrick. “Our short-term production plan calls for a gradual increase to 1,000 tons per day by the end of November and a levelling off at the 1,500-ton-per-day mark by the second quarter of 1989,” he said.
