Production ends year with a whimper

Canadian production of primary and refined copper, primary nickel, gold, silver, primary lead, primary and refined zinc, and iron ore was down between December 1998 and December 1997.

However, refined nickel and lead, and asbestos were up over the same period.

The statistics shown below were compiled by Natural Resources Canada (NRC) and are included in the December 1998 issue of Production of Canada’s Leading Minerals.
