Production delays have forced Geomaque Explorations (TSE) to lower its gold production forecast for the San Francisco mine.
The mine, situated in Mexico’s Sonora state, was expected to produce 6,000 oz. for 1995. However, a delay in the delivery of equipment will reduce that figure to 2,700 oz.
Minable reserves stand at 6.7 million tonnes grading 1.4 grams gold per tonne, and metallurgical recovery rates are consistent with expectations.
The mine is expected to reach full production of 50,000 oz. per year during the second quarter of 1996.
Mexican-based Compania Fresnillo holds a 3% net smelter return royalty on production.
