Production decision at Farley in ’89

A 12,000-ton bulk sample has been taken from the Farley Lake gold deposit, and a final feasibility study is expected to be complete next month, says Manitoba Mineral Resources (MMR) president, Malcolm Wright.

The Farley Lake gold project is a joint venture owned 55% by MMR and 45% by Mingold Resources, which is the operator. The deposit hosts reserves of 1.43 million tons averaging 0.205 oz gold per ton.

MMR is a provincial crown corporation which also holds a 27% interest in the producing Trout Lake copper-zinc mine operated by Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting. The company participates in 48 mineral exploration programs in Manitoba including 33 joint ventures.
