Pro-Veinor finds anomalous gold

Pro-Veinor Resources (PRV-V) has found highly anomalous gold in trench samples on the Fifa gold permit in Guinea, West Africa.

The best assays were from the southern end of trench 4, where 29.5 metres graded 0.8 gram gold per tonne. The interval includes two higher-grade intercepts of 6.7 metres grading 1.4 grams gold and 15 metres graded 0.9 gram gold.

Also, the northern end of trench 4 contained a 4-metre interval grading 0.73 gram gold per tonne; trench 2 contained a 1-metre section of 4.1 grams gold; and trench 3 assayed 0.7 gram gold over 5 metres.

Fifteen trenches, 0.75-1.15 metres deep, were dug over a 240-metre strike length. These were spaced 25-75 metres apart, and samples were taken every metre along their length. Some 475 assays have been received; assays are pending from six of the trenches.

The area excavated runs northeast and is cut by quartz veins. The quartz veins and stringers cut lateritic and altered wall rock.

Last summer, about half of the 170-sq.-km permit area was sampled using a termite-mound geochemical survey. More than 330 samples were taken on a grid measuring 500 by 500 metres. As a result, Pro-Veinor was able to outline the anomalous area.

The company intends to carry out termite-mound sampling over the remainder of the property, as well as trench other anomalous areas.

Fifa is one of three African projects held by Pro-Veinor. At October 2004, Pro-Veinor had 14.5 million shares outstanding. The stock currently trades in the range of 30-40.
