A gas supplier to Canadian mines, Praxair Canada of Mississauga, Ont., has won two major safety awards from the Compressed Gas Association of Arlington, Va.
The Leonard Parker Pool Safety Award honors companies that have shown the greatest improvement in safety during a 5-year period. Praxair won in the category of a company with more than two million employee exposure hours. The Safety Award for Cylinder Fleets is given to the company with the lowest accident frequency during the award year. Praxair is the winner in the category of cylinder vehicle fleets with more than three million miles.
