Potash producers named in action

Canadian potash producers have been named in a complaint, filed in Minnesota, alleging a conspiracy to fix the price of potash sold in the U.S. beginning in 1987.

Fourteen defendants have been named, including Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan (TSE), Potash Co. of America and Cominco (TSE).

The complaint was filed April 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Minneapolis, Minn., division.

The action seeks unspecified damages and other relief.
