Before the program commenced, the Maude Lake deposit was believed to host 233,000 tons grading 0.184 oz gold. Open pit reserves were estimated at 342,000 tons grading 0.19 oz.
The large discrepancy between reserve figures is a result of geological interpretation between surface and underground data, Equinox says.
Options for the development of the property are being reviewed by the partners. This will include further exploration designed to expand known reserves and test exploration targets remaining on the large property.
