Some compete for gold and silver, and others for platinum. The best soccer player in the World Cup tournament taking place in Italy this year, as judged by readers of an Italian television magazine, will be awarded the Platinum Football trophy, Metal Bulletin reports.
Johnson Matthey will sponsor the trophy which contains 2.5 kilos of platinum alloy and is valued at US$100,000.
