Placer, Currie Rose make gold discovery

The discovery was made after Placer tested for the extension of the No 10 vein system striking from the adjacent Seabee property which is controlled by Claude Resources.

The discovery hole intersected 3.2 ft grading 0.55 oz gold per ton. Another hole parallel to the first and 196 ft to the west, intersected 3.2 ft grading 1.32 oz of gold and 12.8 ft assaying 0.31 oz gold. A drill program, scheduled to begin in June, will further test the discovery.

Gold mineralization is associated with a quartz tourmaline vein in a shear zone. The holes cut altered hornblendite, the company says. Placer’s 1989 exploration budget for the property is $700,000.
