Perth hosts platinum conference

Exploration will be stressed at the first Australian Platinum Conference, slated for May 30-June 1 in Perth.

South Africa, Scandinavia, Canada and Australia are among the countries where the search for platinum group metals is on the rise, and speakers from those countries are expected to address delegates.

Complementing the event is a site visit to what could become the first platinum mine Down Under — Helix Resources’ Munni Munni project, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The expedition is scheduled for May 30.

Sponsors include Helix, Aquarius Platinum, Zimbabwe Platinum Mines, Platinum Australia, Pan Palladium, Dowding Reynard & Associates, De Grey Mining, Western Areas, Genalysis Laboratory Services, and Snowden & Associates.

Paydirt magazine is organizing the gathering, which will be held at the Rendezvous Observation City Hotel. For more information, e-mail Simon Naisbitt at simon@louthean.com.au
