CONTINENTAL GOLD — Ray W. Ballmer appointed to the board of directors.

INCO GOLD — Martin R. Robinson appointed president, Aurelio Petracchi, vice-president, production and David J. Browne, vice- president, exploration.

HUDSON BAY MINING AND SMELTING CO. — John J. Ellis appointed chairman of the board and chief executive officer, and will relocate to the Winnipeg office. Allen T. Lambert, who has served as chairman since 1983 is retiring but remains a director.

COEUR d’ALENE MINES — James A. Sabala appointed senior vice-president and chief financial officer; Tim S. Olson, vice-president, human resources and administrative services and Robert T. Richins, vice-president, environmental services and governmental relations.

PLACER DOME — Ian G. Austin appointed senior vice-president and chief financial officer succeeding John Racich who is retiring.

MAGMA COPPER — K. Lee Browne appointed manager, copper sales and raw materials at the San Manuel, Ariz. offices.

GALACTIC RESOURCES — James H. Foreman appointed to the board of directors.

COEUR THUNDERMOUNTAIN — Don W. Bork appointed vice- president and general manager.

COEUR ROCHESTER — L. D. Hartzog appointed senior vice- president; Robert Martinez, vice- president.

ROCKFORD MINERALS — Robert D. Cudney appointed president and chief executive officer succeeding Joseph H. G. van Bastelaar who continues as a director.

ATLANTA GOLD — William W. Reid appointed president and acting chief executive officer; Paul A. Bailly, Lutz Klingmann, Arthur Fisher, John Start, David Valpy, William W. Reid appointed directors.
