Pele discovers more stones

Junior Pele Mountain Resources (YPN-V) has uncovered a third diamond showing at its Festival property, near Wawa, Ont.

Nine stones, seven of which represent fragments of clear-white diamonds and the others intact macrodiamonds, were picked from 32 kg of a weathered outcrop known as the PC showing. As with the Destiny and Jubilee showings, the host rock is lamprophyre; it strikes northeasterly, perpendicular to the fault associated with Destiny, about 600 metres to the east.

Recently, Pele yielded 42 diamonds from the Destiny showing, bringing to 106 the number of stones recovered since sampling began in the fall. A yellow macrodiamond was found several months earlier at what is now termed the Jubilee showing, 4 km to the southeast.
