Paul Coad

Paul Coad, a geologist known for his contributions to the Porcupine base metals mine near Timmins, Ont., has died. He was 51.

In 1974, Coad graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a bachelor of science degree. Two years later, earned his master’s at the University of Toronto.

He spent 25 years working with the Ontario Geological Survey and such companies as Kidd Creek Mines, Pamorex Minerals, Royal Oak Mines and Cameco Gold.

He authored a number of technical papers and was a member of the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda, and daughter, Lindsey.
