Patricia extends Island Gold

Toronto-based Patricia Mines (pat-v) has extended the 21 zone by 25 metres east of the discovery hole at its Island Gold project northeast of Wawa, Ont.

So far this summer, four holes have been drilled into the 21 zone. Hole 34, which tested the eastward extension of the hole, encountered 16 metres (from 373 to 389 metres) of strong sericitic alteration with quartz-carbonate veining, silica flooding and finely disseminated pyrite. Visible gold was noted at 381 metres.

Patricia has also drilled eight more infill holes into the Lochalsh deposit, with all holes intersecting visible gold.

Assay results from the last phase of the summer drilling and trenching campaign are expected soon.
