The pair added to the 72-sq.-km land package owned by North Atlantic by staking an additional 79 sq. km. Dumont can earn up to a 65% interest in the existing claims by spending $960,000 on exploration over 2.5 years; it holds a majority interest in the new ground.
The Albany property comprises what are described as Proterozoic-aged igneous intrusions. These intrusions are covered by 130-270 metres of overburden and, based on geophysical interpretations, are prospective for base metal deposits similar to those found at Sudbury, Ont.
Airborne geophysical surveys will begin shortly, followed by ground surveys and drilling.
