Partners Prospectors Alliance (PALL-C) (with privately held co-venturer Explorers Alliance), Falconbridge (F-T) and the exploration arm of Minorco (MNRC-Q) subsidiary Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting, have approved a budget of $430,000 to cover the first stage of work on a land package in northern Ontario.
The project, dubbed the Hudson Bay joint venture, will be operated by Falconbridge. This year’s work is aimed at finding base metal deposits similar to Falco’s nearby Kidd Creek deposit or smaller base metal deposits.
The initial program will test 13 targets identified during the airborne survey recently flown over the area. More than 50 additional targets were identified that require additional work before drilling.
The Hudson Bay joint venture covers ground carved out from the larger Kamiskotia joint venture between Falco and Explorers (in which Prospectors Alliance shares equally with Explorers), which spreads across 15 townships and covers a 30-km strike length of both the Kidd Creek and Kamiskotia volcanic belts.
Prospectors Alliance is operating the Kamiskotia project and plans to drill base metal targets later this year.
