Partners pull gems from James Bay

Partners Spider Resources (SPQ-V) and KWG Resources (kwgr-c) have intersected more diamonds in the Kyle No. 3 kimberlite body, in the James Bay Lowlands of northern Ontario.

Hole 2000-1, one of seven recently drilled, returned 55 microdiamonds (stones measuring less than 0.5 mm in one dimension) and seven macrodiamonds from a 6-metre section of the dyke, between 227 and 233 metres down-hole. The sample weighed 23.87 kg.

Discovered in 1995, Kyle No. 3 has now been outlined by 10 holes over a length of 450 metres and to a depth of 200 metres. It is interpreted to be a near-vertical, dyke-like body; the best results are associated with a 6-metre-wide zone now thought to represent a continuous intrusive phase.

The partners note that the kimberlite remains open to the west (with geophysical results suggesting at least another 150 metres in that direction) and at depth. At its eastern portion, on section 700 E, it narrows to 3 metres in width.

Results from the remaining holes are pending. Once received, drilling will resume to the west, through to section 100 E.
