Partners hit high grade at Gold Eagle

Vancouver Partners Southern Star Resources (SSR-V) and Exall Resources (EXL-T) have reported the discovery of a high-grade gold structure at the Gold Eagle project in the Red Lake mining camp of Ontario.

The property covers the past-producing Gold Eagle mine, which produced about 40,000 oz. gold from 1937 to 1941. Exall and Southern Star each own 50% of the project, and jointly operate the exploration programs. The companies note that the property has received little exploration attention since operations ceased.

Recent drilling encountered a 516-metre structure with multiple high-grade zones between 1,980 metres and 1,596 metres, within rocks hosting other gold mines in the camp. The highlight was hole 10-1, which returned an 11.7-metre intersection grading 28.47 grams gold per tonne, starting at 1,234.03 metres. This intersection includes a 3.77-metre interval of 10.67 grams gold, and 2.99 metres of 98.86 grams. The section between these two high-grade intervals carried gold values of 0.67 gram over 4.94 metres in the same rock unit.

Hole 10-2 also returned positive results, including 10.24 metres of 6.57 grams (starting at 1,250.42 metres), and 2.57 metres of 42.37 grams (from 1,456.98 to 1,459.55 metres). The companies caution that reported lengths are core intersections and do not represent true widths. More drilling is planned to better determine true widths.
