Partners Cumberland Resources (TSE) and International Vestor Resources (VSE) have drilled four holes in a 3,390-ft. program on the Whistle Lake polymetallic property north of Thunder Bay, Ont.
The property is underlain by a 12-mile-long felsic volcanic belt which has the potential to host base metal, volcanogenic, massive sulphide deposits. All the holes intersected between 6 and 19 ft. of massive to semi-massive pyrite, assaying up to 0.31% copper and 0.28% zinc. Drilling and assays confirm the mineralization is hosted in four potential horizons on the eastern side of the 15,000-acre property.
