Drilling at the past-producing Pickle Crow gold mine in northwestern Ontario has produced encouraging results for partners
Eight holes tested for the strike extension to the unmined No. 13 vein zone and provided mini-bulk samples from the No. 5 vein. Several newly discovered near-surface targets were also investigated.
The best result came from hole 12, collared on the No. 13 vein, which returned 5.9 metres averaging 52.51 grams gold per tonne. Also collared on that vein was hole 11, which cut 1 metre of 5.91 grams gold. Hole 15 failed to return any significant results.
On the No. 5 vein, hole 10 intersected 1.8 metres grading 3.26 grams gold and, farther downhole, 0.85 metre grading 17.72 grams.
The best results from the remaining holes include 3.1 metres grading 2.9 grams gold in hole 14 and 2.9 metres of 2.48 grams in hole 17. The former was collared on the E-zone; the latter, on the Dam zone.
Results from bulk samples of the No. 5 crown pillar are pending.
Between 1935 and 1966, Pickle Crow produced 1.4 million oz. gold from 2.7 million tonnes of ore. At last report, the resource was estimated at 1.1 million tonnes grading 7.54 grams gold.
Jonpol can earn up to a 25% interest in the property by issuing 200,000 shares and spending $300,000 on exploration. The claims are subject to a 1.5% net smelter return royalty.
