The 33,410-ft drill program tested sections of the Little Stull break which strikes for more than four miles and hosts four gold-bearing zones. The drilling focused on the west zone which is comprised of three subzones which extend to a depth of more than 700 ft.
Some of the better values from the latest program include 6.5 ft grading 0.74 oz gold per ton, 6.5 ft grading 1.1 oz and 13.1 ft assaying 0.46 oz.
The results are expected to add to reserves in the west zone, which are estimated by Westmin to total 261,500 tonnes grading 10 g gold per tonne (0.29 oz gold). The reserves are based on a grade cutoff of 3.4 g and a minimum width of 1.5 m. According to Westmin, the reserve estimate is conservative.
Roland Ridler, Tanqueray’s consultant, agrees saying that “there is considerable room for the discovery of additional significant shoots.” Although individual shoots are relatively thin, “they are known to extend down plunge for great distances,” Ridler says.
