A 10,000-ft program of diamond drilling is planned by Parklane Technologies on the Rox/Vox claim group in the Contwoyto Lake area, N.W.T.
The company says it is preparing now to start the first-phase program which is expected to be completed by June of next year, and will cost a total of $500,000.
The program is designed to drill test the main geophysical anomaly on the Rox claim to shallow depths, but a further 10,000-ft program starting in July of 1988 will be completed with tight-hole patterns and deeper holes, Parklane says.
The Parklane claims cover over two km of the confirmed gold- bearing OP Resources-Cominco mineral trend, where drilling results have yielded grades of up to 0.4 oz gold per ton, over appreciable widths.
The geophysical anomaly on the Rox claim resulted from a comprehensive geophysical and geochemical evaluation of the property in 1986. That program also resulted in definition of 12 additional geophysical trends cutting both the Rox and Vox claims.
The company says Lupin-style iron formation was found in association with the main Rox trend, as well as several others being delineated on the Vox claim.
