Pangea hits more gold in NW Tanzania

Pangea Goldfields (PGD-T) continues to intersect gold at its Kanegele project in northwestern Tanzania.

The 266-sq.-km property is made up of three claim blocks: Kanegele, NE Nungwisa and Mega.

In the Kanegele block, hole KN243 returned 16 metres (from 24 metres to the bottom of the hole at 40 metres) grading 3.7 grams gold per tonne.

Kanegele’s gold mineralization, which is open in all directions, is interpreted as being associated with secondary shear structures related to a major northeast-trending shear system.

Hole KN368 tested a geochemical anomaly along this structure and returned 31 metres (from 9 to 40 metres) grading 1.5 grams gold.

One drill section was completed on the NE Nungwisa block, with hole NNE215 intersecting 3 metres (from 3 to 6 metres) of 19 grams gold.

Drilling, using both reverse-

circulation and rotary-air-blast methods, is set to resume by late October on the three target areas.

Montreal-based Explorations Minires du Nord (MDN-M) can earn half of Pangea’s interest in the project by spending US$2 million before the end of 1999.
