An environment assessment panel has announced that public hearings will be held to review the proposed development of a mine and mill at the Voisey’s Bay base metal deposit in Labrador.
The hearings, which will address community and technical concerns, are to begin Sept. 9 in Goose Bay. Succeeding meetings will be held in Nain, Utshimasits (Davis Inlet), Sheshatshiu, Hopedale, Postville, Makkovik, Rigolet, Cartwright, Labrador City and St. John’s, with the last hearings scheduled for Nov. 5.
