A drill program is planned for the Kafunzo anomaly in Uganda.
Pacific Vangold Mines (VSE), which holds more than 9,600 sq. km of exploration licences in the East African country, expects to drill some 1,000 metres.
The targets exist in an area containing anomalous nickel and cobalt values in soils coincident with a geophysical anomaly. Moreover, they are within what Pacific Vangold describes as the potential northern extension of the nickel cobalt belt being explored by Sutton and BHP to the south.
Drilling on the Kafunzo anomaly is expected to get under way in May.
Geophysical and geochemical work is also planned for the claims, as is follow-up drilling. The budget for this year’s work is set at about $588,000.
