A contract to build and operate a multimillion-dollar vacuum pressure swing absorption oxygen plant at the Brunswick Mining and Smelting (TSE) plant at Belledune, N.B., was recently awarded to Praxair Canada (formerly Linde Canada).

Praxair says this new plant will mark the first time in Canada the technology will be used to supply oxygen to a lead blast furnace. Startup is scheduled for March.
