OTHER’S WORDS (August 24, 1992)

It is our belief that Canadian businesses are spending an insufficient amount of money on research and as a result, Canadian businesses lag behind competitors in other countries. Although high-tech industries are important to Canada’s future, this country can’t prosper without a resource sector that keeps up with the latest developments. In areas such as the mineral and forestry industries, Canadian companies are being outspent on research by the competition in other industrial countries.
