Eight holes sunk by Orvana Minerals (ORV-T) as part of its ongoing feasibility study at the Don Mario deposit in Bolivia have turned up strong gold-copper mineralization.
Six holes were drilled in the Upper Mineralized zone, returning an average weighted grade of 1.6 grams gold and 57 grams silver per tonne, and 1.5% copper. Individual results include: 48.7 metres of 2.54 grams gold, 56 grams silver and 2.85% copper in hole 144; 45.9 metres of 2.36 grams gold, 26 grams silver and 1.1% copper in hole 146; and 48.4 metres of 1.74 grams gold, 147 grams silver and 1.57% copper in hole 155. The results are based on a cutoff of 1 gram gold, 30 grams silver and 0.5% copper.
Drilling in the Lower Mineralized zone confirmed the continuity of high-grade gold mineralization. Hole 158 returned 4.3 metres grading 47.75 grams gold and hole 159 hit 1 metre of 5.26 grams gold and 4.5 metres of 27.62 grams. Results from the latter hole indicate that mineralization extends along strike to the north.
Assay results for 13 more holes, most of which tested the Upper Mineralized zone, are expected by the end of the month. Additional infill and exploratory drilling is planned.
Minable reserves in the Lower mineralized zone are estimated at 1.47 million tonnes grading 12.95 grams gold. Resources in the Upper Mineralized zone are pegged at 5.5 million tonnes of 1.5 grams gold.
