Orvana drills to upgrade Don Mario resource

Drilling by Orvana Minerals (ORV-T) is confirming the continuity of high-grade gold mineralization at the Don Mario project in Bolivia’s San Cruz province.

The program is aimed at upgrading the drill-indicated resource to the status of drill-indicated reserves.

The current resource (more than 1 million oz. gold and 220 million lb.

copper) is contained in two mineralized units. The more economic is a zone of high-grade gold mineralization minable by underground methods, which has an average grade of 13 grams gold per tonne.

The other unit, a body of oxidized copper-gold mineralization minable by open-pit methods, hosts 4 million tonnes grading 2% copper and 1.5-2 grams gold.

Recent drilling includes a hole drilled to test the continuity of the high-grade gold mineralization. This hole (86) returned 15.36 grams gold over 21.2 metres (from 143 to 164.2 metres), including 12 metres of 24.28 grams.

The true thicknesses of these intervals were 18.36 and 10.39 metres, respectively.

Results from other holes, which tested the Marginal zone, include (all true thicknesses): 14.57 metres of 5.09 grams gold; 7.9 metres of 3.41 grams; 0.3 metre of 0.28 gram and; 11.78 metres of 2.19 grams.

Two diamond drills and one reverse-circulation drill at Don Mario have drilled more than 5,000 of the scheduled 12,000 metres. The company is also drilling its Pederson gold project in Bolivia, as well as the Butte Highlands gold project in Montana.
