Exploratory work continues on Orsina Resources’ Packer John district silver property in Boise Cty., Idaho, where the company is compiling data to put together a feasibility study.
The Toronto-based company’s Idaho property, located 5,800 ft above sea level, is accessible by road. President Andre Dorfman said it is possible a surface-mining operation could be implemented.
If a shovel operation becomes the chosen method, Mr Dorfman said mining could take place for eight or nine months during the year before winter sets in, with the ore stockpiled and the mill running on a year-round basis. There is also the possibility of the company high-grading the deposit, he said.
Depending on the recommendations of the feasibility study, Mr Dorfman said he is hopeful of a production start-up by fall, 1988.
Still to be determined is the full geological ore reserve potential. Chip samples taken from one of the veins (the Red Dot) graded from 27.12 oz silver per ton on up to 243.8 oz.
In 1986, Orsina raised $530,000 through financing involving common shares and units comprising flow-through shares and warrants. Part of the proceeds went towards the completion of the purchase of the nine Packer John claims.
In other news, Orsina is acquiring a 50% interest in 36 mining claims in St. Laurent Twp. in the Casa Berardi area; the agreement is with Glen Auden Resources and calls for Orsina to spend $315,000 on exploration before April 30, 1989. Results of an exploratory drilling program on the property are awaited.
Orsina reported a deficit of $93,965 for its fiscal year 1986.
