Drilling by Oroperu Resources (OROP-C) on the Tres Cruces project in north-central Peru has verified the continuity of mineralization.
Mineralization at the property, a 50-50 joint venture with Pan American Silver (PAA-T), is hosted in gently dipping Tertiary Calipuy dacitic volcaniclastic rocks. The alteration and associated trace element geochemistry suggest a high-level, low-temperature, epithermal gold system.
Highlights of the recent program are as follows:
* Hole 7 intercepted 210 metres, including 42 metres from surface grading 0.75 gram gold per tonne, 41.5 metres of 0.76 gram and 46.5 metres of 1.68 grams.
* Hole 8 returned 58.5 metres of 1.25 grams gold, including 27 metres grading 1.73 grams.
* Hole 10 intercepted 7.5 metres of 1.03 grams, 9 metres of 0.88 gram and 7.5 metres of 1.28 grams.
* Hole 11 reported 79.5 metres of 2.05 grams, 9 metres of 0.8 gram and 42 metres of 1.43 grams. The hole bottomed in mineralization, with 6 metres grading 32.95 grams.
* Hole 12 intercepted 12 metres of 0.95 gram, 34.5 metres of 2.25 grams and 19.5 metres of 0.83 gram.
Highlights of the first four holes (previously reported) are; 25.5 metres grading 1.29 grams gold and 15 metres of 1.43 grams from hole 1, and 70.5 metres of 2.8 grams from hole 4, which bottomed in mineralization.
Oroperu has announced a brokered private placement to raise up to $7 million.
Proceeds of the $1.75-per-warrant placement will be used for exploration of Tres Cruces and other Peruvian projects.
