Orofina drilling at Jackson-Manion bet

Drilling has resumed on the Uchi Lake properties held by Orofino Resources. Located in northwestern Ontario, the two properties are being tested by a 5,000-ft drilling program.

On the Jackson-Manion property two holes tested the extension at depth of two parallel zones of gold mineralization. The holes have been completed to depths of 640 ft and 647 ft respectively. Results are expected shortly.

The target zones have been traced for 1,180 ft along strike by previous programs. The current drilling is focusing on an area three miles north of the Jackson-Manion mine which is on the Orofino claims.

Drilling is also planned for the company’s Earngey Twp. property, 10 miles to the southeast. Drilling will test for depth and strike extensions of a 700-ft long zone of quartz veins and pyritic tuff. Drilling last year cut gold values in eight of 10 holes. These included 0.54 oz gold per ton across 2.7 ft.
