A drilling program representing 10,000 ft. has been started up by Ressources Orient (ME) at the Sturgeon River polymetallic project in the Geraldton area of northwestern Ontario.
The property comprises 34 claims. Two zones, A and Copper, are of current interest, the company says. The A zone is described as “a series of gold veins with zinc and silver mineralization in a silicious envelope.” This envelope, the company says, has been identified along 200 metres of strike length and to a depth of 125 metres.
The Copper zone is described as a large altered zone, mineralized in pyrite pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite and straddling the Sturgeon River.
Orient says it raised $925,000 through a public financing in December, and another $200,000 through a private placement with Q-Vest 1989 Mining Exploration and Co. The proceeds will go toward exploration at the Sturgeon River project and three other properties in northwestern Quebec.
