In hopes of replicating the success of its exploration of the Intiedougou gold property in Burkina Faso, Orezone Resources (ORZ-M) has optioned a 500-sq.-km parcel of land immediately to the south.
Orezone can earn a 60% interest in the new permit by spending US$1.2 million on exploration and paying US$30,000 over the four years. The company says the permit covers the southern extension of the Intiedougou fault zone, within which a gold-bearing syenite body was recently intersected by drilling. Results include 60.2 metres grading 1.02 grams gold per tonne in hole 7.
