Drilling by Orezone Resources (OZN-T; OZN-X) at the Bondigui property in Burkina Faso has intersected gold mineralization in a new zone well north of known resources.
Two reverse-circulation drill holes collared about 800 metres north of the Bondi Main Zone encountered low-grade gold values on the structural extension of the Main Zone. The holes were testing areas where high gold values in soil samples and anomalies from an induced polarization survey coincided.
One hole, collared in mineralization, cut a 49-metre length grading 3.2 grams gold per tonne. The second intersected 10 metres grading 1.2 grams per tonne, and was stopped in mineralized rock. Orezone estimated the true width of the zone at 35 metres; to date there is no drilling to the north or south of the zone that might indicate its strike length.
The Bondi Main Zone has an indicated resource of 1.8 million tonnes with an average grade of 2.9 grams gold per tonne and an inferred resource of 446,000 tonnes running 2.4 grams per tonne. Most of the resource lies on a 400-metre strike length of a north-south structure, down to a depth of about 150 metres.
Orezone’s exploration on other targets in the Hound greenstone belt in west-central Burkina Faso has also discovered new mineralization on the Sbdougou, Intidougou and Gueguere permit areas, between 25 and 50 km northeast of Bondigui. At Intidougou, 26 km northeast of Bondigui, reconnaissance drilling intersected a 6-metre zone grading 3.6 grams gold per tonne.
Drilling at Sbdougou, 36 km ot the northeast of Bondigui, found a 15-metre intersection grading 3.3 grams per tonne. Further northeast, at Gueguere, Orezone drilled 3 metres grading 13.3 grams gold per tonne.
In addition, soil geochemical surveys have outlined a 5.5-km-long zone of gold values on the Poyo permit area, 22 km southwest of Bondigui.
