OP-ED: PDAC president Dillon moving to Vancouver

The Dillons are packing up and heading west.

Patricia Dillon, president of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada and manager of corporate relations with Teck Cominco (TCK.B-T, TCK-N), is relocating to corporate headquarters in Vancouver. Teck plans to give her a new title — which is not yet official.

Husband Ted Dillon, currently manager of merchant banking with Roynat Capital in Toronto, will head west with Patricia and assume the same title with Roynat in Vancouver.

Both hope to start at their respective offices in early May.

Teck will continue to keep its Toronto office, which mostly focuses on metals sales. No other Teck staff will make the trip west.

Dillon believes her duties as PDAC president can still be managed effectively from Vancouver, a sentiment echoed by PDAC staff.

“We just finished two years with Peter (Dimmel) based on the east coast so we have lots of experience working with a president who is not based in Toronto,” says PDAC convention director Lisa McDonald.
