Fully 246 applications, representing $2 million in grants, were initially approved for funding under the new Ontario Prospectors Assistance Program (OPAP). OPAP, implemented by the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines last October, provides grubstake grants of up to $10,000 to qualified individuals carrying out prospecting activities in the province.
“We have been impressed by the strong demand for the program,” says Ontario Mines Minister Hugh O’Neil.
