Thomas Zarnke has been promoted to plant manager at ME International’s Northern Automatic Electric Foundry operation in Ishpeming, Mich. He joined the company in 1985 as engineering and maintenance superintendent. In addition, Peter Clevenstine has been hired as sales manager for the Ishpeming facility. Clevenstine has 10 years of engineering and operating experience, with USX Minntac and Ohio Edison.
GE Superabrasives has appointed Stephen Palovchik as manager, international sales, and Patrick O’Brien as manager, American sales. Palovchik joined the company in 1972, O’Brien in 1982. O’Brien will be responsible for sales in the Canada, the U.S., Mexico and South America.
Algoma Steel Corp. has named T.A. (Tom) McCracken as its new sales manager responsible for construction, transportation and heavy equipment sales. McCracken, who has been with the company for 10 years, works out of Algoma’s head office, in Mississauga, Ont.
Daniel Siegert has been named vice-president, marketing and sales, of K-Power Products. He previously was marketing manager for Kop-Flex Inc. K-Power, which manufacturers shaft couplings, adjustable speed drives and related power transmission equipment, is moving its headquarters to Grimsby, Ont.
Hugh Macpherson, president of King Packaged Materials Co., has announced the appointment of Bruce Semkowski, as vice-president, industrial products. King is a division of kpm Industries. The company designs and manufactures grouts and shotcretes for the mining and construction industries. King also manufactures a variety of building and repair products.
Baker Hughes mining Tools has named Bill Lainsbury sales engineer for big-hole products in Canada and the U.S.
