Omni receives Skukum results

Preliminary results have been received from the underground program at Omni Resources’ Skukum Creek property 30 miles south of Whitehorse. By July 23 the adit was in a total of 2,850 ft and two zones had been encountered in the development program.

The Rainbow zone was intersected by two crosscuts and the Kuhn was cut by the main drift at 1,000 ft below surface. Widths in the Rainbow range from 17 ft in the No 1 crosscut to 27 ft in the No 2 crosscut. Channel sampling indicates a true width of 26 ft averaging 0.189 oz gold and 13.25 oz silver in the No 2 crosscut but some values are higher. This compares with 18.5 ft of 0.1 oz gold and 9.83 oz silver intersected by a drill hole at that point.

Surface and underground diamond drilling are continuing and results from a dozen holes are pending. Recent assay results from the Rainbow extension included 14.6 ft of 0.17 oz gold and 12.5 oz silver in No 87-D2 and 12.5 ft grading 0.184 oz gold and 11.2 oz silver in No 87-UG1. Within that interval was 5.5 ft grading 0.32 oz gold and 7.7 oz silver. These are widely spaced step-out holes which have extended the Rainbow zone an additional 500 ft to the north and 500 ft at depth. Omni says this effectively doubles the strike length of the Rainbow which is open in all directions.

The company will be drilling the Kuhn prior to additional drifting and this program is scheduled to begin immediately. A second underground drill is also being mobilized.
