I realize that no one can be all things to all people. However, even though The Northern Miner has ben dedicated primarily to mining interests, as far back as I can remember it has always been a source of information on Canadian oil and gas interests as well. You even publish a Canadian Oil & Gas Handbook.
If you intend to abdicate your role in reporting on Canadian oil and gas companies by putting a paragraph on Page 7 (N.M., Feb 8/88), that is your business. However, it shows little concern for people like myself who have subscribed to your paper for years and are very interested in all Canadian resource companies.
For instance, I bought Barons Oil Ltd. years ago, from information in your paper. I hold several thousand shares and now you tell me that the listing is deleted from your tables. (It is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.)
I can’t continue to own a stock when I cannot know its price and volume activity. Could you please inform me of a Canadian newspaper that I can subscribe to which has complete listings of at least Toronto exchange oil and gas issues? I feel that you owe people like myself at least this much courtesy, after we subscribe to your paper for more than 30 years. Paul D. Hansell Ocean, N.J.
