Odessa plans drilling Arizona heap leach bet

Several drill targets have been outlined and a $120,000 program is planned on Odessa Explorations’ Warsaw Canyon heap leach prospect in Santa Cruz Cty., Ariz. Six anomalous zones have been discovered on the property with gold values ranging up to 0.203 oz gold per ton, President William Travnik reports. Chip samples over 5-ft widths range up to 0.056 oz within a 700×2,400-ft-long zone.

According to Travnik, the surface assays indicate potential to develop a large tonnage, low cost open pit leaching operation. The company is considering joint venture partners for the project and expects to start drilling in March.

The Warsaw Canyon claims area is bounded on the north by Newfields Minerals’ Margarita gold project and to the south by Echo Bay Mines’ White Gold project.
