OBITUARY — Garfield Parsons

Garfield “Red” Parsons died in Toronto on Nov. 15 after a long battle with cancer.

Mr. Parsons graduated from the University of Toronto with an honors degree in geology and mineralogy. After serving in the Second World War, he worked for several mining companies, including Dominion Gulf, a pioneer in the use of airborne magnetometer surveys designed to locate mineral deposits.

In his later years, he worked as a consulting geologist.
