OBITUARY — Eileen Malouf

A school teacher and member of the Women’s Association of Mining in Canada, Eileen Beatrice Malouf (nee Carmichael) has died.

A native of Brownville Junction, Maine, she spent her early years with an aunt and uncle in Escuminac, Que. She graduated from MacDonald College and taught school at Noranda and Quebec City.

She is survived by her geologist husband of 52 years, Dr. Stanley Malouf, sons Michael and David, and daughter Margaret. The Maloufs lived in Noranda and Chibougamau in Quebec and moved to Toronto in 1957.

Active in the United Church of Canada, the Red Cross, the United Way and Foster Parents Canada, she served as ladies’ golf captain and a director at St. George’s Golf & Country Club in Toronto.
